This is one of the best art museums in Amsterdam. Designed by Pierre Cuypers in 1885, Rijksmuseum holds the country’s best and most extensive art collection, including twentytwo Rembrandt paintings and four belonging to Vermeer.

The museum has about 80 galleries that showcase about 800 years of Dutch art and historical objects. It also has decorative Asian art. However, the most impressive collection is the Golden Age collection featuring the Night Watch and Vermeer’s The Milkmaid, alongside other pieces.

Van Gogh Museum

This museum holds most of Vincent van Gogh’s art, who was well known for his creativity around the world. The museum showcases all sorts of art ranging from Van Gogh’s classics to the Japanese prints and works made by his good friend Toulouse-Lautrec.

Joods Historisch Museum

This Museum of Jewish History has been open since 1987 and displays art in four synagogues in the old Jewish quarter. It is adored for the religious photography and painting details showcasing the rich culture of the Jewish people and the Jewish religion in Amsterdam. For the most part the displays focus on the Dutch Jewish culture.

Moco Museum

The modern and contemporary Moco Museum is a private museum smaller than other art museums in Amsterdam. The art museum is housed in an early-century mansion that includes art collection works by different artists. Its most recent displays include works by Daniel Arsham, Mark Rothko, and other art collections.
